Dear Lake Whitney Families,

Thankful, as defined by Webster’s Dictionary, is a feeling or showing of gratitude. We have many things to be thankful for here at Lake Whitney.  In addition to our wonderful students, teachers, support staff, and parents, we have a couple of very special people on campus who are driven to make a difference in the lives of children.

Big hearts, big smiles, and big impacts are how we can describe our Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Kristin Abel and our Support Person of the Year, Mrs. Tamie Shoener.  These two individuals are representative of the dedicated and high level of professionalism that our teachers and staff share.  We truly believe that we are blessed to have such an outstanding group of people working together for the educational well-being of our students.  We are truly thankful for our wonderful school community.

Once again, students at Lake Whitney showed their compassion for others by contributing to the Holiday Food Drive.  Students donated non-perishable food items which will be given to families in need over the holiday season.  The students will help feed many families in our community.

The holiday season presents a wonderful opportunity for us to reflect on the events of the year.  This year has presented us with many changes and challenges.  However, the spirit of giving has become a thread in the fabric of the American way.  We are so proud of the giving feeling our students have exhibited.

Thank you for your generosity this year and your continued support of Lake Whitney Elementary School.  We are truly blessed to have such wonderful students, teachers, staff and parents.  We wish you all of the joys of the season!

Elizabeth Prince, Ed. S.
